	Estonia was declared a sovereign state on 20 August 1991 and independent Estonia issued her first stamps on 1 October 1991
	Soviet stamps were valid for postage until 31 December 1991. During the last four months of that year mixed usage of USSR and Estonian stamps was allowed.
